"Flowers Gone Wild" was painted along Routt County Road 80 for the Steamboat Springs Plein Air Event.
It was a gorgeous June morning. Along the roadside, I saw a couple of rattlers catching the morning sun, many prairie dogs and turkey vultures soaring overhead. The wildflowers blanketed the hills and called me to paint. How could I refuse?
The painting won an Honorable Mention at the show.
